Forefront RF, a Cambridge-based fabless semiconductor scale-up, has appointed Heidi McQueen as Chief People Officer. Her appointment comes at a pivotal stage in the company’s growth as it bolsters its engineering and operations teams and broadens the reach of its proprietary Foretune™ technology beyond smartphone and smartwatch applications.

Following its Series A funding round in November 2024, Forefront RF has more than doubled its headcount and made several senior appointments, including a Director of Engineering, Director of Projects and Systems Architect. Forefront RF’s work in mobile communications focuses on enabling global connectivity through a single RF front-end module. As the company evolves, it is building on this foundation to extend its core technology into new markets, including wireless coexistence in multi-radio IoT systems and satellite-to-device connectivity. This broader application focus is driving the need to attract, develop and retain specialist talent.

Heidi brings experience in building people functions and developing the culture, systems and teams needed to support fast-paced technology businesses. At Forefront RF, she will lead the company’s people strategy, helping attract and develop talent as the business scales.
Ronald Wilting, CEO of Forefront RF, said: “Heidi joins us at an important point in our journey. As our team grows and we extend our technology into new application areas, we need to ensure our people have the support and opportunities to grow with us. Heidi’s experience will help us build on the culture and expertise that underpin our progress.”

Heidi McQueen, Chief People Officer, added: “I’m delighted to join Forefront RF at such an exciting stage in its growth. The team’s ambition and technical expertise stood out to me, and I look forward to creating an environment where people can do their best work and share in the company’s success.”
